Ethan Hu is a 16 years old student studying in Beijing National Day School and is attracted by the magic of chemistry and biology. He believes that by learning these two subjects, he can find a way to better protect the environment and reduce the progress of global warming.

My Story

When he was about seven years old, he read a comic book that was about environmental protection. That book was about an adventure of a group of three, where they have accidentally been stranded on a no-man's island, so they need to  escape and get back to the normal world. During the process of trying to escape, they’ve experienced a lot of extreme weather that is caused by global warming, including the drought on the island that made them have no water to drink. At last, when they finally built a raft, they found that there was so much garbage in the ocean that they could barely move because the garbage around them stopped them from going forward. All of these problems are drawn in vivid images and gave me a shock, so he realized that if we don’t protect the environment, then it will cause a backfire to human society.

Currently, Ethan is planning to take Chemistry, Biology, and Further Math in Grade 11 to better assist him to gain more knowledge in the field of Biochemistry and Environment protection. In the current semester, he get A* in Biology and Chemistry, which will give him a steady foundation in his future study.

Looking ahead, Ethan aims to expand his ambitions in pursuing higher professional and personal growth through real world experiences. He believes that to assume leadership in global issues such as climate change, he must be both physically and intellectually stimulated, and he intends to achieve this through undertaking research initiatives, joining global youth communities and building ecosystems aligned with his interests to maximize the impact he can create.
